# Referral FAQ

Quick answers about referral codes, bonuses, and commission.

## Applying codes

**How do I apply a referral code?**
Open a friend's link (`app.dustswap.wtf/ref/theircode`) and join — the code applies to your account. It's free and needs no transaction.

**I'm already a DustSwap user. Can I still apply one?**
Yes — anyone who has never had a referrer can apply a code once. After that it's permanent.

**Can I change my referrer later?**
No. One referrer per account, forever.

**Can I apply my own code?**
No — self-referral is blocked, and circumventing it with multiple wallets risks removal of wrongly earned PP.

## Bonuses & commission

**What do we each get at signup?**
500 PP each — both the referrer and the new user.

**How long does commission last?**
For the lifetime of the account relationship — 20% of your invitees' eligible PP earnings, with no cap and no expiry.

**Do I earn from my invitees' invitees?**
No. Commission is single-level by design — no pyramid mechanics.

**Why is my commission less than 20% of what my friend says they earned?**
Commission applies to *eligible* earnings only (their referral bonuses don't count) and is based on final awarded amounts after their daily caps.

**Is there a Founder or Co-Founder Pass boost?**
A **Co-Founder Pass** boost to a 30% commission rate is planned but **not live yet**. Today everyone earns the standard 20%. Announcements will come through official channels.

## Tracking

**Where do I see my referral stats?**
Your Profile: number of referrals, bonus history, and commission entries in your PP history. The [Leaderboards](../leaderboards/leaderboard-overview.md) also rank referrers.

**My new referral isn't showing.**
The referral leaderboard refreshes on a periodic snapshot (every few hours) — your Profile stats update sooner. If a signup truly didn't register, ask in the official Discord with both wallet addresses.

**Someone applied my code but I got no bonus.**
Bonuses are idempotent — applied exactly once per new account. If their application errored mid-way, have them retry; duplicates are automatically prevented.

> Referral spam is a common phishing vector. Only trust `app.dustswap.wtf/ref/...` links, and never connect your wallet or sign anything on look-alike domains. Report fakes in the official DustSwap Discord.
